Stella N Day

Stella Nadine Day, age 78, of Springdale, AR, passed away on January 22, 2023 at The Bungalows at Springdale. Stella was born on November 14, 1944 in Madera, CA., the daughter of the late Irvin Dilbeck and Maudie (Turner) Dilbeck.

Stella graduated from Madera High School class of 1962. On June 15, 1962 she married the love of her life, Raymond E. Day, who preceded her in death on September 26, 2000. Stella worked for many years as school secretary at Butterfield Elementary School. She loved flower arranging and won numerous awards, often using flowers from the family garden. She taught Wilson cake decorating classes and developed a technique for making hollow sugar eggs with scenes inside that is still being used. Later in life, Stella was a member of, and officer in, multiple Quilt Guilds. Along with all the quilts made for family and friends, she made and donated numerous quilts for “Quilts for Valor”.

Stella is survived by her loving children, Keith Day and wife Michelle and Patricia Carlson and husband Jeff; a brother, Stanley Dilbeck and wife Susie; a sister, Donna Madewell and husband Mike; 6 grandchildren, Lauren Sawdy, Alex Day, Zachary Carlson, Korah Dougherty, Seth Carlson and Hanna Carlson; and 1 great grandchild, Gavin Sawdy.

Stella was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a daughter Debra Moore.

Friends may visit with the family from 4 – 6 PM at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Chapel in Springdale on Thursday, January 26,2003. Graveside services for family will be held at the Elm Springs Cemetery.
