Rufus B. Lewis

Rufus Brittie Lewis of Murrieta,CA passed away Monday,January 22, 2018.

He was born in Nail,Arkansas on April 20,1928, son of the late George (Wash)

and Addie (Wages) Lewis. He loved his church and the people were very special

to him. He served in many different capacities throughout his life. He enjoyed

making people laugh with his simple jokes. Game playing with friends was a favorite

pass time. He loved nature and fishing.

Rufus was preceded in death by his wife,Edith Harris Lewis, of whom he

was married to for 60 years.

Rufus is survived by his daughter and her husband, Renee and Greg Smith;

2 grandchildren: Scott Smith and Victoria Patterson; 4 great grandsons: Jesse

and Craig Smith and Cole and Ry Patterson.

Visitation will be held on January 29, 2018 at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale, Arkansas from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.  A graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 2:00pm at the Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Pastor Larry Mitchell will officiate.  .
