Peggy Ruth Carswell

Peggy Ruth Carswell, 89, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas passed away at her home on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.

Peggy was born on May 12, 1934, in Abingdon, Virginia. She was the daughter of Crawford Munsey Burgess and Zelma “Tommy” Henley Burgess. She married Ezra Carswell on September 21, 1951, in Greenville, Tennessee, who preceded her in death. Peggy was a bookkeeper for Pet Milk and Citation, as well as owning and operating with her husband, Carswell Marine for 35 plus years. She was a member and regularly attended the Sager Creek Community Church and the Red Hat Society. She loved her church, her bible study group, the Kind at Heart Ministries, and the birthday bunch. She had so many friends and family she dearly loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Clarence Burgess, and one sister, Helen Johnson.

Survivors include two sons, Leslie Carswell of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Charlie Carswell and wife Penny of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; one daughter, Cindy Coleman and husband Scott of Springdale, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Seth Coleman, Sarah Coleman, Chandler Carswell, and Carley Carswell; two great grandchildren, Jackson and Leto Coleman; along with many other family and friends.

A visitation will be held at Backstrom Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, Arkansas on Monday, February 19, 2024, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. 

Funeral Services will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral home in Siloam Springs on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 10:00am. Pastor Kyle Weir will officiate the services with burial being conducted at the Oak Hill Cemetery. The arrangements were entrusted to Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, AR

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Sager Creek Community Church or to the Kind at Heart Ministries.
