Mitchell Priest

Mitchell Dewitt Priest, 96 years old of Lowell, AR., passed from this life Friday, October 29, 2021 at Concordia Nursing in Bella Vista, AR.

Born in Little Texas, AR., in 1925 to Lexi and Velma (Simmons) Priest. This is where he learned compassion, empathy, and responsibility of caring for anyone less fortunate than himself. That standard stayed with him till the end of his days with us.

Mitchell proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. On January 20, 1947 he married Violet Lavern Hillis.

He is survived by his sons; Dexter Priest, Lester (Sandra) Priest, Mark (Julie) Priest and Timothy Priest; a daughter, Ellen (Jim) Killebrew; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; closest friend and relative, James Priest; and his special friend, Hattie Carty who provided personal care and companionship for several years.

Mitchell is preceded in death by his parents; his loving and faithful wife of 58 years, Laverne; siblings, Evelyn Priest, Thomas Priest, and Donald Priest; and a son David Priest.
