Lester Bernard Hancock

November 7, 1927 — February 29, 2020

Lester Bernard Hancock, 92, of Springdale passed away Saturday February 29th, 2020 at Washington Regional Hospice in Fayetteville.

Lester was born November 7th, 1927 in Goreville, IL a son of Almous J. Hancock and Opal Jane Platter. Lester was married to Pearl Madge Hancock in 1947 in Goreville, IL. Lester honorably served in the US Army from August of 1952 to August of 1954 in Germany as an Engineer. Lester then went on to work as an industrial dye caster. He was a talented musician and led a band called the Nu Tones as a young man.

Lester was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Pearl Hancock; his brother, Vernon Hancock of Fayetteville, AR; brother-in-law, Joe Howell of Spokane, WA;  two sisters-in-law, Judie Hancock of Denver, CO and Mildred Rast of Antioch, IL. 

Lester is survived by his daughter, Sandra Hagihara; two granddaughters, Juliette and Catherine of Fayetteville, AR;  his brother,  James Hancock of Marionville, Illinois; three nieces, Barbara Hagan of Las Vegas, NV, Sharon Hoffman and Debby Dawes of Illinois; and a nephew, Dennis Hancock of Griffithville, AR.

Special appreciation is extended to Lori Winters, of Springdale, AR, and the caregivers of Avenir Memory Care, Fayetteville, AR for the care and companionship they shared with Lester.
