Leila McVay, 89, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at the Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab Home.
Leila was born July 14, 1928 in Springfield, Missouri to Emory Moore and Clytie Sanders-Moore. She married her loving husband Paul McVay in Springfield, Missouri and were married for 66 years.
She had been a 7th grade school teacher in Tulsa, enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family and others in need. Leila also enjoyed painting, fishing and was a great mom. Leila was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Siloam Springs and served families for 25 years at the Mana Center.
She is survived by her husband, Paul McVay of the home; 2 sons, Keven Kurt McVay of Stillwater, OK and Mark Kyle McVay, wife Elvera, of Tulsa, OK; 1 brother, Kirk Moore of Kansas City, Missouri; 4 grandchildren, David McVay, Christopher McVay, wife Jennifer, and
Raymond McVay; 1 great grandchild, James McVay; numerous nieces and nephews; 9 brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws; Leila is also survived by many other loved ones and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Emory Moore and Clytie Sanders-Moore and 1 brother, J.R. Moore.
Visitation will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00pm.
The funeral service will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 10:00am . Pastor Clark Atkins will officiate the service with burial being held at Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, AR.
