Larry Edward Cooper, 75, of Gentry, Arkansas passed away Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the Siloam Springs Regional Hospital. 

Larry was born on March 22, 1949, in Gorman, Texas. He was the son of Harry Edward Cooper and Jimmie Faye Rawls Cooper. He married Carey Sigmon on August 9, 1969. Larry worked for Southwestern Bell/AT&T for thirty years. After his retirement, he went to school to become a Dental Assistant and did that for eight years. Larry was active as an Amateur Radio Operator, call sign “N5LEC” and participated daily on the YL System. He enjoyed many pastimes including astronomy, metal detecting, and photography. He will always be remembered as a devoted father and a kind, generous person. 

He is survived by his wife, Carey Cooper; two sons, Jay Cooper and husband Phillip of Gentry, and Shawn Salter and wife Tiffany of Bullard, Texas; one sister, Barbara Wyrick and husband Jack of Midland, Texas; one granddaughter, Abigail Salter; along with many other family members and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Carma Cooper. 

The Memorial service will be in the Chapel at First Baptist Church in Midland, Texas and Internment at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Texas on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 10:00AM. 

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
