Joyce Corrine (Blair) Luper, 84, of Kansas, Oklahoma passed away at her home on Friday, February 28, 2020.
Joyce was born on July 5, 1935 in Kansas, Oklahoma, a daughter of Chandler Blair and Opal Brown Blair. She was the widow of the late Delbert Gene Luper who preceded her in death. Joyce worked for the Head Start in Lowry, Oklahoma and was a cook for the Kansas Public Schools. She was a member of the Kansas First Baptist Church and enjoyed painting, Bluegrass music, visiting the Smokey Mountains and feeding and watching her birds.
She is survived by six sons, Dwayne Luper of Oklahoma, Russell Luper of Johnson City, TN, Boyd Luper of Taft, OK, Rodrick Luper of Kansas, OK, Dwight Luper of Gentry, AR, and Mark Luper of Texarkana, TX; two daughters, Cathy and husband Danny Kingfisher of Salina, OK and Holly and husband Ron Hardin of Strickler, AR; two brothers, George Blair of Catoosa, OK and James Blair of Kansas, OK; two sisters, Valeeta Weber of Salida, CO and Diane Garmin of Flint Creek, OK; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Louise Garner and two grandsons, Christopher Russell Luper and Edward (Eddie) Gene Luper.
Visitation will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home on Thursday, March 5, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 8:00pm.
