Jerry Queen, 77, of Westville, Oklahoma passed away peacefully Monday, March 10, 2025 at the Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Arkansas.
Jerry was born July 29, 1947 in Heavener, Oklahoma to Vacher Queen and Hester Queen-McMahan. Jerry came into this world at a whopping 12 lbs. He started training horses at 14 years old in Hontubby and continued his life long love of horsmanship until the very end. He served in United States Air Force for 4 years stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He left the Air Force as a Staff Sargent E5. Life then took him to Tucson, AZ where he worked for Southern Pacific Railroad and graduated from the University of Arizona. While living in Tucson he met Sue in 1975, they married and shortly moved back to Oklahoma, where life of a family man began. In 1982 he began his teaching career in Watts, Oklahoma. He retired along with his wife in 2010 and was able to enjoy being a Horseman full time, where the many that joined him at the barn dubbed the place “Queen’s Cowboy College “.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sue Queen of the home; his two children, Leah Queen-Matthews and husband, Andy of Westville, Oklahoma, and Joel Queen and wife, Kristen of Stillwater, Oklahoma; his two grandkids, Oliver and Emma; two step-grandkids, Ben and Allison Matthews; brother-in-law, Carl Ferguson; two nieces, Melinda and Melissa; a special great-nephew, James Lee Leather; and his pride and joy fur baby, Rockford.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Vacher and Hester Queen and his brother, Billy Queen.
A visitation to celebrate Jerry’s life will be held Friday, March 14, 2025 from 4:00PM-7:00PM at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
His celebration of life graveside service will be held 1:00PM on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Hontubby Cemetery in Heavener, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers will be Mike Langley, Bobby Hubbord, Seth Fleig, Mark Kelly, Carl Ferguson, Terry Wilhite, Austin Suttle, and John Dale.
Honorary Pallbearers will be JD Noblin, Brad Self, James Leathers, Chais Strickland, Eddie Suttle, and Levi Mitchell.
