Hattie Maxwell

Hattie Maxwell, 87, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

She was born July 18, 1937 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas to Mead and Opal Kustanborter. She was a lifelong Benton County resident. She married her childhood neighbor, Leland R. Maxwell and they shared many loving memories until his passing in 2017. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing quilts and serving her family and friends delicious home-cooked meals.

Hattie is survived by her 2 sons, Donald Maxwell of El Dorado, Kansas and Marty Maxwell, and wife, Iretha of Colcord, Oklahoma; 2 grandchildren, Angela Maxwell and Marty Jo Maxwell; and 6 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in passage by her parents, Mead and Opal Kustanborter; her husband, Leland Maxwell; and 5 siblings.

Per Hattie’s wishes, cremation will take place. The family will gather at a later date in Spring 2025 for the burial of Hattie and Leland’s ashes in Rowe Cemetery of Colcord, Oklahoma.
