Harold Burl Newton, 89, of Gentry Arkansas passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020 at his home.
Harold was born on January 19, 1931 in Marionville, Missouri, a son of Burl Newton and Nellie E. (Forrester) Newton. He married Carolyn Sue Ott on August 19, 1977 in Miami, OK. He enjoyed writing music and poetry and recently published a book on the prophecy of Daniel and Revelation. Harold served honorably in the U.S. Army
He is survived by son Harold M. Newton and wife Twyla of Springdale, AR; a daughter Jill Duncan and husband Scott of Elkins; and five grandchildren Vicki Blair, Kim McCreary, Matthew Whited, Elizabeth Carlson and Sara Tipton; and nine great grandchildren Zachara Lutz; Emily and Anthony McCreary; Maelee, Mollie, and Millie Whited; Jace, Kaylee, and Landon Carlson.; step-daughters Debbie Melton and husband Almus of Bella Vista; Cheryl Holm and husband Gerald of Gentry; Crystal Reiter of Jay, OK; and five step-grandchildren; Shannon Holm; Jennifer Roberts; Brian Adams; Heather King and Dalton Ott; and step-great grandchildren Andrea Holtzkamper; Carson and Cooper Roberts; Lyric and Skyler King; Hunter and Hudson Adams.
He was preceded in death by parents Burl & Nellie Newton; two sisters Elda Wilfley and Doris Wilson; one brother Jack L. Newton; one daughter Lynette Ball; by his loving wife Carolyn Sue Newton; stepson Joe Ott and one step-grandchild LaTonya Grover.
