Francis "Gene" Hunter

Francis “Gene” Hunter, 84, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at the Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab Center.

Gene was born on July 14, 1935 in Midland, Texas; a son of Joseph Hunter and Gracie Hart-Hunter. On May 4, 1958, he married Eddie Lue in Midland, TX and shared many loving years and memories together. He was a United States Marine Veteran. He loved The Lord and was active in the children’s ministry of Living Way Church in Midland, TX. Gene had a passion for cars, being outdoors, water skiing; but most of all, he cherished his family and watching his son, Joey and grandson, Jedidiah play sports.

Gene is survived by his wife, Eddie Lue McAlister-Hunter of the home; a son, Joey Hunter and wife, Rebecca of Siloam Springs, AR; a brother, Dorwin Hunter of Texas; 2 sisters, Nancy Holmes of South Carolina and Sydney Deal of North Carolina; and 2 grandchildren, Jedidiah Hunter and Jayzlee Hunter.

The visitation will be held Friday, July 26, 2019 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Chapel.

The graveside service will be held Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 10:00am at Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs, AR officiated by Steve Becker.
