Eugene F. Maletta, 93, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024 at his home.

Eugene was born December 1, 1930 in Gary, Indiana to Carmine and Isabella Maletta. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 - 1953 as a culinary specialist in the bakery, while stationed in Alaska. In the early 70’s he began his career in the automotive industry where he met his future wife, Lillian. He later retired from Woodbridge Corporation in Brodhead, WI and moved to Siloam Spring, AR in 2011. His friends and family remember him as a great man who left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He was a hard worker and led an active and healthy lifestyle. He enjoyed cooking and baking, and often showed his love by making sure everyone who came into his home was welcomed and fed. He also loved gardening, woodworking, and arguing politics. Some of his other interests and hobbies were spending time with the family dogs, fishing, building model ships, but his main passion was working with his hands; construction, landscaping, and excavating. He had friends all over the world, and those who met him will never forget him. He was a devoted family man and will be dearly missed by many.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Lillian Maletta, of the home; one son, Robert and wife Carena Maletta of Arkansas; one daughter, Maureen Maletta and fiancée Ward Steinmann of Wisconsin; one brother, Sammie

and wife Theresa of Indiana; one granddaughter, Sophia Soneberg of Wisconsin; nephew, Johnny Hamilton of Louisiana; niece, Lisa Maletta of Indiana; other nieces and nephews; many more family and friends, and

beloved Beagle-Schnauzer mix, Misty Rose.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carmine and Isabella Maletta; one brother, Thomas Maletta; two sisters, Theresa Faire and Mary Mazzuca; one mother-in-law, Lylian Hernandez; two brothers-in-law, Walter Faire and Guillermo Caceres; and one sister-in-law, Norma Maletta.

Per his wishes, there will be no services at this time, but a celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.

The arrangements were entrusted to Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Arkansas
