Edward Andrew Straubing Jr

Edward Andrew Straubing Jr. of Siloam Springs Arkansas passed away on January 28, 2024 at the Siloam Springs Nursing & Rehab. 

Ed was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 30, 1944 to Edward Sr. and Gladys (Young) Straubing. The family moved by train from Chicago to Corsicana, Texas in 1947 where he was always a Texan at heart regardless of his gypsy soul. Ed was passionate about cooking, traveling, going to the beach, watching westerns, sports and his Walmart trips. He was a butcher by trade for over 50 years. He was a five-time cancer survivor and a proud supporter of St. Jude.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Vernon, Ronald and Jack, five sisters Gloria, Lenore, Joyce, Eileen, Vivian and one son Edward Andrew Straubing III.  

Survivors include one sister Nancy Prestidge of Spring, Texas. Daughter Lisa Straubing of Jenks, Oklahoma; Son, R.J. of Gentry, Arkansas; Son, Beau and wife Mary of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; Daughter, Summer Bookhardt and husband Michael of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; Daughter in law, Annette Straubing of Corsicana, Texas. He has ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  

A visitation will be held at Backstrom Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, Arkansas on Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. 

Graveside Service will be at Resthaven Memorial Park in Corsicana, Texas on Friday February 2, 2024 at 3:00pm. The arrangements were entrusted to Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, AR.
