Dr. John David Gaston of Fayetteville, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017.
He was born on December 27, 1956 in Russellville, Arkansas, a son of the late James Mack Gaston and Martha Laverne (Jones) Gaston. He served in the United States Air Force in Pararescue and in the Army as a Physician. He owned and operated his own clinic, Simply Family Medicine in Fayetteville, which served uninsured patients throughout NWA. He was an avid runner, cyclist, drummer, hiker, and he volunteered with Arkansas Baptist Disaster Relief teams. He loved supporting his kids in football, cross country, and band. He was a member of Cross Church in Springdale, Arkansas.
Dr. Gaston is survived by his wife of 29 years, Diane (Lee) Gaston; his first son, John David Gaston, Jr. and wife, Kerry of Russellville, Arkansas, and his four children, Samuel Gaston, Thomas Gaston, Sarah Gaston, and Faith Gaston all of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one granddaughter, Isabella Gaston; four brothers, Thomas Andrew Gaston of Russellville, Arkansas, James Mack Gaston, Jr. and wife, Wendy of Winslow, Arkansas, Timothy Gaston and wife, JoAnne of Dardanelle, Arkansas, Daniel Richard Gaston and wife, Cheris of Phoenix, Arizona; one sister, Rebecca Lynn Brown and husband, David of Russellville, Arkansas.
John loved his family, loved his patients, and will be dearly missed.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 18, 2017 in the Chapel at Cross Church in Springdale, Arkansas. To sign the online guest book please visit www.backstrom-pyeatte.com.
