Dean Ray Creasey, 61 years of age, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at the family’s river home in Flippin, Arkansas on the banks of the White River.
Dean was born on April 23, 1963 in Benton, Arkansas to James “Jim” Creasey and Melva Atchison-Creasey. Growing up, he was active in Faulkner County 4-H with his main project being poultry where he raised the Arkansas State Fair Grand Champion chicken for 10 consecutive years. His childhood passion led him to pursue his Bachelor of Agricultural Business degree from Southern Arkansas University; upon graduation he entered the poultry industry, working for Pilgrim’s Pride, Tyson Foods, and Cobb-Vantress. On October 26, 1991, he married his best friend, Carla, at a little local community church in Nathan, Arkansas. They lived in numerous places around Arkansas, Tennessee and Kentucky until moving to Siloam Springs, Arkansas in 2000. His career took him and his family around the world including an overseas assignment in The Netherlands; he owned two poultry farms and was active with The Poultry Federation. He worked 34 years in the industry before he retired to live his dream of becoming a fishing guide on the White River. He was a man of the land: an avid trout fisherman and hunter. When he wasn’t out in the wilderness, he could still be found outside grilling, golfing, or dancing and singing along in the crowd at local concerts. Family game nights and poker nights were also some of his favorite activities where he could show off his competitiveness along with his wit. He enjoyed giving advice and was known by all for his “Dean-isms.” Dean was a joyful soul that will be dearly missed by all.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Carla Creasey of the home, mother, Melva Creasey of Greenbrier, Arkansas; 3 children, Ashley Creasey of Indianapolis, Indiana, Nathan Creasey and fiancé, Felecia of Gentry, Arkansas, and Alison Creasey of Rogers, Arkansas; brother, James “Jimbo” Creasey of Greenbrier, Arkansas; sister, Tamara “Tammy” Hargrove and husband, Stan of Greenbrier, Arkansas; uncle Billy Creasey of Hot Springs; in-laws Doug and Jean Cornish of Nathan, Arkansas; 4 nieces; 3 great nephews; 1 great niece; cousins; and countless friends.
