David Oxford

David Wesley Oxford, 74, of Fayetteville, Arkansas passed peacefully Saturday, November 23, 2024 at the Washington Regional Medical Center.

David was born December 17, 1949 to Wesley Oxford and Freda Dees-Oxford in Fayetteville, Arkansas. On July 19, 1980, he married his best friend, Alice, in Weddington, Arkansas. From this union came countless wonderful memories and laughs. He enjoyed camping, volunteering at the senior centers, and mowing the church yard with his “tractor”. He took pride in volunteering to work at the local election polls this year. His biggest joy in life was playing with his grandkids and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Alice Oxford; 2 daughters, Kelly Estridge and husband, Scott of Van Buren, Maine and Kasey Glisson and husband, Daniel of Fayetteville, Arkansas; 6 grandkids, Jonathan Estridge, Hannah Estridge , Brandon Glisson, Aiden Glisson, Dominic Glisson, and Emily Glisson; numerous nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Bonnie Estep and husband, Speed; 3 brother-in-laws, Gene Bishop and wife, Margaret, Donald Bishop and wife, Glenda, Earl Bishop and wife, Diana; and a host of friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Freda Oxford and his brother, Phillip Oxford.

The visitation for David will be held at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Arkansas on Monday, December 2, 2024 from 5:00PM-7:00PM. 

The funeral service for David will be held at Wedington United Methodist Church on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 10:00AM with Pastor Joe Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Weddington Cemetery.
