Chersoua Lee

Our beloved father’s birth name was Lor Lee and then by tradition was given his adult name after marriage as Chersoua Lee. Recently, his name was changed to Schue Ka Lee to encourage hope, healing, and faith.

Our father was born in Sayaboury, Laos on June 15, 1965 to Boun Mee Lee and Mai Lor. He then met his lovely wife, Mai Xiong and married her in 1986. He immigrated to the United States in 1990 where he settled in St. Paul, MN. They had their first child and son Sean in 1987. Their second son Jessie was born in January 1992. Then in November 1992 they had their first daughter Sue. And finally their last daughter Shaney was born in 1998. In 2003, he bravely moved our family to Decatur, Arkansas for a business venture with chicken farming. Eventually, he ended the business and diligently farmed instead. Despite developing health challenges, he continued to work hard. He lived with humility and enjoyed helping people. He enjoyed fixing cars and sharing whatever he owned with others. He always smiled and saw the good in people. He was a peaceful man. When he wasn’t working on his farm or helping others, he would be found outdoors, hunting and fishing. Above all, our father was family-oriented and loved us well, especially his three granddaughters.

On Monday, June 10, 2024, at the age of 58, our father passed away peacefully at the Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Arkansas. He was surrounded by his family and loved ones.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mai Xiong of home; 2 sons, Sean Lee and Jessie Lee, both of Decatur, Arkansas; 2 daughters, Sue Lee and husband, Phillip Yang of Thornton, Colorado and Shaney Lee of Northglenn, Colorado; 2 brothers, Pacha (Nhia Kheng) Lee of Saint Paul, Minnesota and Schuezong Lee of Conover, North Carolina; his only sister, Kazoua Lee of Charlotte, North Carolina; 3 grandchildren, Amaris, Khloe, and Aspen; and many other loved ones.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Chersoua Lee will be conducted at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral, located at 1401 E. Main Street, Siloam Springs, Arkansas 72761. Doors will be open from 10:00 am-10:00 pm on Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21. Burial will take place at Gentry Cemetery on Monday, July 22; The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 11:00am.
