Betty Jolene Hightower died March 1, 2021 at Willard Walker Hospice in Fayetteville at the age of 91.
She was born June 2, 1929 in Stella, Missouri to Cecil Schulyer Cullers and Bessie Inez McMurty Cullers.
Jolene was preceded in death by daughter, Debra Davenport, husband, Francis Eugene Jenison, and son, Douglas Jenison.
She is survived by her husband, Wilford J Hightower, daughters, Donna Jo Davenport, Dr. Mary B Gunter and Dr. Becky Shopfner, son, Andrew N. Jenison and fiancé Rocio Aquilera, grandson Andrew E. Jenison and wife, Emily, and grandson, Jason Crittenden and many close, loving friends.
Jolene became a Christian at an early age and spent most of her life active in various ministries, including Women Alive. She was an ordained minister through the Assembly of God Church, and preached in many places. Even in later years as her health deteriorated, she continued to minister locally through counseling, teaching, praying, and encouraging in the Lord. She also led many souls to Christ through her love of the Lord.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 3, 2021, 1:00pm at Oak Hill Cemetery with Bro. Wayne Thomas officiating. The family would like to thank the wonderful caretakers at Willard Walker Hospice for their loving care at the end of Jolene’s life. In lieu of flowers, a contribution in her name to this facility might be considered.
