Bernice Walls

Donzell Bernice Walls, 89, of Decatur, Arkansas passed away Friday, January 28, 2022 at her home in Decatur.

Bernice was born September 4, 1932 in small town near Jay, Oklahoma to Jess Addington and Mary (Brown) Addington both deceased. In July of 1950, Benice married John Walls. They had five children and were married for 34 years until his death in 1984. Bernice was a housewife and homemaker and had worked in the school cafeteria and as a house keeper. Bernice was a member of the First Baptist Church in Decatur and loved spending time with her family and working in her yard.

Bernice is survived by her sons, Butch (Laura) Walls and David Walls; daughters, Mary June Walls, Melinda (Kelly) McCollum and Janice (Carl) Mason; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother Albert Addington, and a daughter in law, Lill Walls

Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 noon untill 1:00 PM at the Backstrom~Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, on Saturday, February 5, 2022.  A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM with Carl Mason officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Circle Of Life Hospice and the American Heart Association in Bernice’s name.
