Arlin Harp

Arlin Dean Harp, 76, formally of Siloam Springs, Arkansas passed away peacefully Sunday, January 26, 2025 at The Blossoms Nursing Home of Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

Arlin was born September 5, 1948 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas to Richard and Nora Dean Harp. He was a member of the Gum Springs Baptist Church in Siloam Springs and attended when his health allowed him. He was a very hard worker and had a great work ethic. He thoroughly enjoyed working. His professional career ranged from being an AG Teacher to being the Supervisor at the Rivercane Café in the West Siloam Springs Cherokee Casino. More recently, you probably saw his friendly smile and were greeted by him as he worked for Wal-Mart in Siloam Springs. He was well-respected and a favorite to his coworkers at all of his jobs. He will be remembered as being very friendly, down to earth, and could keep a conversation with anybody. Arlin was one of those people who never met a stranger. 

He is survived by his cherished children, Arlin “Buddy” Harp JR and wife, Comella and Lisa Suter and husband, Michael all of Siloam Springs; his beloved wife, Rita Harp of Siloam Springs; siblings, Larry Harp and wife, Sandy of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Steve Harp and wife, Arlene of Westville, Oklahoma, and Kathy Singleterry of West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Blake Suter, Brendan Harp, and Jacob Harp; step-daughters, Sandy Griswold and husband, Jeff of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Teresa Lindabury of Bentonville, Arkansas, Gayla Drummonds of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Lindsey Lawrence and husband, David of Fayetteville, Arkansas; 13 step-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren; his four-legged companion, Theo; and countless friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Chera Lee Harp.

The visitation for Arlin will be held 11:00AM to 1:30PM on Friday, January 31, 2025 at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs. The graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 2:00PM.
